William Roberts returns to explain how the breakdown of elected local government has been fostered by non-elected people who masquerade behind the warm and fuzzy notions of “Regionalism”. Massachusetts has abandoned County government and Schwarzenegger in California has called for the termination of County government in order to substitute a non-elected regional form of local government. Regionalism propels a soviet style system that tramples American values of independence, private property and governmental accountability. Learn to recognize this key element to Sustainable Development as it works to invade your community.

Saturday March 4th, at noon KSCO 1080 www.ksco.com The County Board of Supervisors is making major changes to county ordinances. Wyatt Hull, a UCSC (University of California Santa Cruz) student discusses Santa Cruz County Tax Collector Fred Keeley’s transportation funding meeting which was held on campus yesterday. Despite the fact that Santa Cruzans rejected Measure J last year (a huge Sustainable transportation bond), the local Sustainability change-agents have regrouped and are back with a new consensus program to skirt the will of the voters. The patterns revealed in meetings of this type are important to citizens across the country.
Don’t let your town become a “model Sustainable community” unless you want congested roads, a deliberately created housing-shortage crisis, and loads of corruption. Special guests David Smith and Gary Arnold will discuss what they have learned in their journeys through; planning departments, housing projects, transportation plans, and consensus meetings.
