“Quality of Life” is measured with a new “Triple Bottom Line” (Environment, Social Factors and Economics). While claiming not to mix apples and oranges, they skillfully proceed to mix them – with fancy charts, etc.

The public is allowed “choices” – within predetermined outcomes – to be reached by typical “facilitated consensus” or, more accurately, “manipulated democracy”.

I sent this particular page because of the charts, graphs and also because it shows a map with a virtually solid grey “growth exclusion area” that “just happens” to be the Big Sur Bio-Region.
Also, we’re getting barraged with many so-called grassroots “Local Community Plans” for our neighborhood communities that lie in the unincorporated areas of the county.

They usually start with “surveys” asking what is special about our area and what we would “fight to protect”.

This illegally allows for an “end-run” around our Constitutional government, traditional political jurisdictions and accountable, elected representatives – which was designed to protect private property rights.

A whole new layer of regulations and unelected bureaucracy is the goal as more and more land is grabbed and our government mutates into a giant real estate company, something it was never intended or Constitutionally authorized to become. This puts citizens in direct “competition” with their own government for their housing and livelihood.

It creates artificial shortages of land and infrastructure. It also creates the housing/price “crisis” that we are experiencing. The free-market system is being purposely stifled while growing government searches for yet another, bigger “cure that’s worse than the disease”.
